Lady Mitchell Hall Occupation

Why we are occupying:

We are here to present an alternative to the government’s White Paper, which we believe constitutes an assault on Higher Education, and to build – in support of millions of striking workers – for November 30. We intend to hold an open, free University of Cambridge and invite anyone to hold talks and workshops in our space.

We are here in solidarity with the Occupy Movements, in response to the global financial crisis and austerity measures being levelled on ordinary people accross the world.

We welcome anyone and everyone to come and debate, listen, and take part in the workshops and talks we will organise here. This is a free and open space and university lectures will continue. This is our idea of the university. Not for profit but fair, free, and open to all! Come join us! We are doing our best to make sure that there is a quiet space where people can study- so bring your books, computers and notebooks.

  2. hello dear students!
We are hoping to organise a talk about
‘the consensus process and facilitators training at Occupy London’
on Tuesday 6 December noon(ish) with Hannah Chalut.
She only has time Tusday 6 December at 10, 11 or 12noon – so could we book the Lady Mitchell Hall for this talk PLEASE? Confirm ASAP please – and I’ll try to reserve an alternative venue in case the occupation will be finished by then – or have you got an room alternative?

    About Hannah’s talk:
One of the biggest internal issues facing the OccuopyLSX at the momnet is organisation and co-ordination on the basis of all decisions being made by consensus of the General Assembly only. See article in ‘The Occupied Times’ http://theoccupiedtimes.co.uk/?p=812
Hannah has been training the consensus process and facilitators training at Occupy London for several weeks and is happy to give this workshop and inform us about her experiences “from an important centre of the revolution”.

Details to follow on my web site:
