There is always a space for studying, feel free to bring essays to write and books to read.

SATURDAY 27 November
12- Solidarity rally in front of Great St Mary’s
12:30 (once rally is over) Workshop/skillshare about campaigning and activism, open to everyone, all experiences welcome.This is especially geared towards the day of action on Tuesday.
2pm Graduation – so we’ll be pretty chilled out, if you want to bring some study-books, come along! We’re welcoming in the grads and their families up to tea, you can come up too for a cuppa.
4pm A talk from John Rose, a student occupier from ’68
5pm A few volunteers to help cook dinner would be great
6pm- come along for dinner! Small donation appreciated

2pm Non Violent Direct Action Training: civil disobedience, protest tactics, and your rights.
3pm Emma Mawdsley, Cambridge University Senior Lecturer, “grassroots movements across the world and how they relate to UK activism”
4pm Dan Hind, author “The Threat to Reason: How the Enlightenment Was Hijacked and How We Can Reclaim It”
5pm Facilitation Training: how to chair/facilitate a meeting so the group can come to a decision together!
6pm Public Meeting: all welcome to find out more about the Old Schools Occupation
7pm “Dinner with Priya Gopal”, via Skype (delicious food, not via Skype, provided for a small donation). Dr Gopal. Lecturer in English and Dean of Churchill has been spearheading the academics’ support of the occupation.
9:30pm The Staircase Band (really this time!) Cambridge’s favourite gypsy-klezmer band

MONDAY 29 November

12.30pm Dr Larry King, of the Sociology Department, is giving a talk on ‘Neo-liberalism and Privatisation’

2.30pm Debate: ‘Can the Labour movement lead the resistance against the cuts?’ Representatives of the Labour Party, Socialist Appeal and the SWP to talk.

TUESDAY 30th November

12pm National Campaign Against Fees and Cuts demonstration starting from St. Mary’s Church, King’s Parade

5pm ‘Mockupation’ stand-up comedy from Magpie and Stump (performers TBC)
9.30pm MDG screening of The Battle of Algiers

TUESDAY 30 Nov

12 noon – meet at Great St Mary’s for a romp through Cambridge against fees, cuts, and the scrapping of EMA
Afternoon – Meeting/discussion with 6th formers about building links, campaigning skill share
6pm- Big meeting- what next? building the movement…

8pm – poetry (the poetical is political, John’s Gents
9:30pm – film – the Battle of Algiers – (it’s an amazing film)

WEDNESDAY 1 Dec

The occupation of Old Schools enters its 6th day and we have a schedule filled with workshops, talks, and negotiation plans.  The day will be capped by a performance from the roving Ceilidh (stopping earlier in the evening at UCL and SOAS occupations).

Everyone is welcome, not just students!

THURSDAY 2 Dec

Come join us in the Old Schools Occupation this evening for music, preparation for tomorrow’s day of action, decoration of our ‘Solidari-tree’ and a MASS SLEEPOVER!!

11pm MASS SLEEPOVER! Bring bedding and love to stay over and wake up revitalised andf ready for the mass action.

FRIDAY 3rd DECEMBER
Morning Mass Action.

Despite the University’s refusal to engage with the students and academics who are concerned about the current threats to higher education, the occupation has created a space to build a dynamic movement against cuts and fees.

Tomorrow we will be taking action (in accordance with ournon-violent principles) to take the campaign forwards and make our voices heard. Bring gowns, tunes, enthusiasm and a smile; come as early as possible.

Let’s end the term with a clear message to the university and the government on what students and academics think of cuts and fees: NO IFS NO BUTS, NO EDUCATION CUTS
